Background
- Service: Commissioning engineer and site lead
- Industry: Data center
- Country: Denmark
When Cummins, a North America-based equipment supplier of power systems, secured a project for installation and commissioning of a generator backup solution for a data center in Denmark, they partnered with us to provide workforce solutions for this and future projects across Europe.
The Denmark project marked the beginning of the collaboration, starting with the deployment of a generator specialist for the commissioning phase. As the project progressed, our engineer’s knowledge led to an expanded role as site lead for the project’s duration, demonstrating our adaptable and skilled workforce.
Challenge
The rapid growth of the data center industry, driven by advancements in AI and IoT, created a surging demand for backup generator solutions. This overwhelmed their workforce capacity and presented logistical challenges that complicated the deployment of their american personnel to projects abroad.
Cummins needed a generator specialist for the installation and commissioning of four 3,5 MW generators and one 0,55 MW generator. Moreover, they requested a reliable workforce partner capable of deploying skilled personnel across Europe while managing all associated administrative and compliance tasks.
Our solution
We established a partnership with Cummins, giving them access to a pre-screened workforce and full back-office support for deployment and compliance tasks. For the Denmark project, we deployed an experienced electrical commissioning engineer with expertise in generator systems within two weeks of the initial briefing.
Because of our engineer’s extensive experience, he was able to initiate the installation phase without the need for lenghty onboarding and introduction.
His strong technical skills and project management abilities prompted Cummins to request an expanded role, transitioning our engineer to site lead and extending his stay for the remainder of the project.
The project was initially scheduled for two months, but due to our engineers expanded role unforesee delays we extended our engineers stay multiple times allowing the project to progress.

Results
The Denmark project is progressing well and is on track for completion by early 2025 , and our engineer has already been assigned to a new data center project in Holland. Further building on this success, Cummins has entrusted us with additional projects in Sweden, where we have deployed an electrical commissioning engineer and a team of three electricians for new installation phases.
The ongoing collaboration highlights the value of our expert workforce and our ability to adapt to our client’s evolving needs.
