European Shutdown Manager for cement plant projects

We are looking for a seasoned Shutdown Manager with experience from shutdown projects in the cement industry.

As the Shutdown Manager on cement plants, you will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and successfully executing large-scale shutdown projects. This role demands a professional who can effectively manage multiple stakeholders, ensure safety compliance, and deliver the project within specified timelines and budgets.


• Proven experience in managing large-scale shutdown projects within the cement or heavy industrial sector.

• Strong understanding of cement plant operations and maintenance.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.

• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Proficiency in project management software and tools.

• Safety certifications and a commitment to safety best practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Shutdown Planning: Develop a comprehensive shutdown plan, including scope, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders, including plant operators, maintenance teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations throughout the shutdown project.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources, both human and equipment, to meet project objectives efficiently.
  • Budget Oversight: Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure the shutdown is completed within budget.

    Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards throughout the shutdown process to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate any disruptions to the project.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the shutdown, including progress reports, safety reports, and budget updates.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to a team of professionals involved in the shutdown project.
